I graduated from the University of Arizona and, like most post-grads, I wasn’t sure what comes next. That summer I started working at a private investment advisor as a summer job with plans to go to law school in the fall.

I quickly realized that law school was just an idea rather than a passion. During that summer job, I saw what type of work the investment advisor was doing and their ability to help people financially.

I worked to become a full time member of the team by passing the Series 65 exam. From there, I became a Portfolio Manager and helped manage roughly $3 billion in client assets across approximately 3,000 clients and achieved my Chartered Financial Analyst certification.

Ultimately, I saw an opportunity to leave and start my own business with the focus on providing help to individuals and families as they go along their financial journey through life. My favorite part of the job is client relationships and helping people.

I currently live in Irvine, California with my wife Emily, my daughter Ellie, and dog Dixie.

After graduating from Westmont College, I started out working in banking before moving to the technology industry. I quickly realized that while school had prepared me for my professional life, I wasn’t ready to handle my personal finances. 401(k)s, budgets, emergency funds and taxes were all new and I needed help. I originally started working with Chris (first client!) to get my finances in order and manage my 401(k) and investments.

As I began to figure out how to handle my own finances and what investing early and often could lead to, I was hooked. I ultimately determined that my goal was to take my personal and professional experiences and help people build their wealth and give them confidence for the future.

I currently live in Santa Barbara with my wife Carly and dog Groot.

Dixie and groot

They are our chief morale officers and constant reminders that the simple things in life mean the most. Groot and Dixie understand that family is most important, although food and tummy rubs are right behind. In their free time they alternate between napping and vigorous games of fetch and tug of war.
